According to Apostle Osei, the month of September, the 9nth month of the year represent birthing, bringing forth fruits, you sow and you reap. Which scripturally makes sense, because there are 9 parts that make up the fruit of the spirit.
In order to bear fruit you must first sow/plant. And the care that you put into the seed and the type of ground you sowed into will determine what your harvest looks like. Ain’t that a word?
This revelation came to me earlier in the year and I’m still gaining wisdom from such revelation.
In the Holy Bible, (purchase it from my Amazon storefront here if you don’t have a physical copy) in the book of Matthew chapter 13 verses 1-9 Jesus gives us the parable of the seed and the sower.
Many times we sow seeds into ministries, sermons and other things and just sit back with our hands cross and sort of wait for magic to happen. However that’s not how it works.
Let’s stick with the money factor for a minute. Let’s say you’re asking God for financial discipline and then you hear a sermon on that subject. You’ll probably/hopefully be led by the spirit to sow into that sermon because it feels like God is talking to you. Due to the Holy Spirit moving in you, you decide to budget and plan out your spending. You stick to the script for a bit. Then, some time goes by, the conviction from the sermon has left you and you’ve gone back into your bad spending habits. Now things are worst than before and because it’s easier to blame someone else instead of realizing your wrongs, you would say that the church stole your money. The devil is a liar!
Ok but how does this relate to the fruit of the spirit? Well, the Fruit of the spirit is: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control (Galatians 5:22,23). And the way the fruit works is that you have to have them ALL. One might be stronger than the other, but they ALL work together.
The analogy stated shows lack of the fruit in the area of patience, self-control, and love. Patience because you didn’t stick with the budget plan long enough to see it really make any tangible changes. It’s like getting pregnant and expecting the child to come out fully developed in 5 months. No, there’s a process and some things take longer than others. There’s a right time to sow and there’s a right time to reap your harvest. Self-control, because you allowed your current desires to overrule and override your goal of financial discipline. Lack of love because you simply don’t place false blame on the people and things you truly love.
Correlation between the fruit and the parable of the sower? Your heart, your heart is the ground in which you are sowing. When you gave that seed, did you give it begrudgingly or willingly? Was your heart light or did you have anger or animosity towards someone in your surrounding? Did the money come from honest or dishonest means? If your heart isn’t open and receptive to receive, nothing no one says or does will be of impact to you. Check your heart.
